tutorial #4 (i need better titles)

In this tutorial you will learn how to make icons with a purple-ish tint with a bit of texture.

Sorry, I know I have a bad tendency on using bad examples for my tutorials but here it is:

First, like all icon tutorials you need your base ready. I'm using one with LIGHTS since I've been recently making LIGHTS icons.


Step 1: Open this texture from Kyuusho (which is non-existent at the moment) and change it to Lighten for the Blending Mode.


Now it should look like this:


Step 2: Make another Fill layer with the colour #052aa0 (or the image below) and change the Blending Mode to Overlay.


After the Blending Change, it should look like this:


Step 3: Now duplicate the base and set it to Lighten and it should look like this:


Step 4: So, now use this texture (I forgot where I found this) and set it to Lighten or if you don't want the light effect then just make a fill layer with the colour black:


It should look like this now (I flipped the texture horizontally):


Step 5: This is the last step. And optional. If the image is too dark and doesn't show much of the detail, you duplicate the base and use Lighten.
